The main wine regions in Burgundy
Burgundy covers a large area. This area can be divided into several regions. Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Mâconnais all have their own distinctive characteristics. Although wines from Burgundy are very popular, the price of these wines is often quite high. This is due to several factors. First, there is the quality of the wine. This is very high in Burgundy. There are quite a few vineyards designated as "Grand Cru," the highest qualification. Demand for these high-quality wines is high, but production is not the same every year. This creates some scarcity. This drives up prices for Burgundy wine. Wine from the northern areas of Burgundy is often priced slightly more friendly than wine from the middle, while the quality is also very high.
