Other wines from the Jura wine region
Although the Poulsard and Savagnin grape are both very typical of the Jura area, together they make up less than 30% of the total plantings in the wine region. The Chardonnay alone accounts for 45% of plantings. This grape produces exceptional floral wines. The Trousseau grape accounts for 8% of plantings. This is a demanding grape variety with aromas including black fruit and coffee. The Pinot Noir grape is also grown in the Jura. This grape often ripens here first and has aromas of strawberries, crabapples and blackberries.
