terroir as possible. Our selection will be continuously expanded.

White wine is available in many different varieties. Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc are well-known white wines, but in our offer you will also find many wines made from Chenin Blanc, Trebbiano, Sylvaner and Gewürztraminer. When making white natural wine, the winemaker lets nature do its work. This means that the grapes are grown organically or biodynamically, but also that the winemaker does not intervene during the winemaking process. Sometimes not even sulfite is added to the wine. At Aardig Wijntje you can choose from a wide range of these types of wines. So there is always a suitable white vin naturel for you among them.

What are the differences between organic and biodynamic wine and vin naturel?

The way grapes are grown and vinification takes place afterwards affects the type of wine made. In organic viticulture, the winemaker does not use chemical pesticides or fertilizers on the vineyard. With biodynamic wine, this is also the starting point, although biodynamic winemakers go even a step further. They really work with nature. They do this by, for example, using herbal mixtures to strengthen the soil and the vines. They also adjust their operations based on the position of the moon and sun.

The grapes for natural wine are grown organically or biodynamically. They are picked by hand and there is almost no intervention by the winemaker during vinification. No additives are allowed in natural wine. Only for sulfite is an exception made. Sulfite may be added to natural wine in small amounts, although there are many winemakers who prefer to make white wine without sulfite. However, this can sometimes make the wine more unstable.

Buying the best white natural wine

At Aardig Wijntje, we carry a very diverse range of white natural wines. Because there is as little intervention as possible when making this wine, white natural wine often has a distinct taste. Also, the taste of the wine varies from vintage to vintage. Natural wine is actually always made in small batches. The character of the grapes used greatly influences the taste of the wine. White natural wines are made all over the world. There are white natural wines from France, Italy and Spain, as well as Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia. There is no official certification for natural wines and because of this, there is a lot of experimentation with vinification in different countries.
